The Gamewell Fire Department sponsor an Explorer Post at the West Caldwell High School. The members range in age from 15-18 years old and also are members of one of the following Fire Departments: Gamewell, Collettsville, or North Catawba. The student firefighter program as been in operation since 1965 and has produced several emergency workers not only for the Gamewell Fire Department but throughout the county. We have had over 10 members of this program to go on to be Fire Chief and at the present time we have over 3 members who came through the program serving has Chief Officers in three different departments.
